The Market Experience
A unique aspect of Bonner Community Food Bank is our market shopping experience that is provided to the populations we serve. Shoppers are afforded another level of dignity as they can shop for the items that they consume based on their preference, diet, and culture. In 2023 we completed a 2,000-foot expansion to our warehouse and market, creating additional space for volunteer work and shoppers. The food bank had over 38,000 visits to our market, this is up by 5,000 visits from 2022. Nearly 300 tons of food was donated by local citizens and grocery stores. 13,643 volunteer hours were logged.10,107 youth, 12,955 adults, and 13,789 seniors were assisted. Over 100,000 pounds of food was then shared with collaborating agencies, thereby widening our impact.
